The original International Functionalist Style house within a stone's throw of the ocean cliffs had been subject to a number of alterations and additions. Sam Crawford Architects’ design aims to create a new coherent design. The curved walls and joinery panels both outside and inside required a systematic approach and meticulous finish strategy. Demanding SQ’s full attention, steel windows and bare concrete benchtop as well as polished concrete flooring made for a contemporary end result whilst respecting the existing elements. The many heavy alterations proved difficult for both structure and services, but all the required specs were achieved by working closely with the different consultants and architects.
