47 Darling Street, Balmain East is a carefully executed alteration and addition to a late-19th century Victorian terrace located within a heritage conservation area in Sydney’s Inner West. The project focused on preserving and restoring the home’s historic street presence while transforming the interior into a contemporary residence suited to modern family living.

The design balances heritage restoration with thoughtful architectural intervention, improving spatial flow, natural light and functionality while respecting the original character of the building. The result is a refined integration of traditional craftsmanship and modern construction within a tightly constrained urban site.
